Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic medical-surgical team. As an RN in our medical-surgical unit, you will provide expert care to a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. Your commitment to patient-centered care and your clinical expertise will be integral in delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications, monitor their effects, and document accordingly.
  • Provide wound care, post-operative care, and other treatments as required.
  • Continuously monitor and assess patients' conditions, recognizing and responding to changes.
  • Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment.
  • Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed.
  • Manage and assess pain, providing appropriate pain relief interventions.
  • Support patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey.
  • Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition to post-hospital care.
  • Stay current with medical-surgical nursing practices through ongoing education and certification.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in Illinois and CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 3 of experience in a medical-surgical nursing role.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
